Flying Across Indochina

Our route today – from Mandalay, Myanmar – to Danang, Vietnam.   This morning waking up – we were concerned about whether or not we could fly today but the weather lifted and we were able to take off.   It was a cloudy -bumpy day – so I snapped some shots between the clouds – however they really do not capture the beauty of where we all flew.

A  farewell this morning as we left Mandalay.  I think one of the many wonderful things about Myanmar is the people – just so kind and hospitable.

Departing the airport – and a final pagoda – understandable that Myanmar is called the “land of pagodas” – pagodas and temples and statues  are absolutely everywhere.

The Golden Triangle.   Where the borders of Laos, Thailand and Myanmar meet.

Luang Prabang, Laos and the Mekong River.  The Mekong River is a very important river to many countries -it  flows through China, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam and Myanmar.
